This month, Mario’s was proud to participate in the Scotiabank Women Against Breast Cancer 5K, which was held on Saturday September 28th. It was the 21st anniversary of the event and Mario’s was proud to support and boy did we have a time!
This year’s theme was ‘Every Stride Empowers’ and the event took place around the Queen’s Park Savannah.
The Scotiabank Foundation works to bring awareness not just to Breast Cancer, but to all issues affecting women’s health and wellness. Their work throughout the year includes initiatives like partnering with healthcare associations including the Caribbean Association of Oncology and Hematology to bring cancer screening and information on prevention, control and palliative care to women across Trinidad and Tobago.
We were super excited to be a part of such a meaningful event and to be able to support such an important cause, especially with Breast Cancer on the rise here in Trinidad and Tobago. It’s more important than ever to spread awareness and ensure that women and girls pay particular attention to their health in this regard.
Even if one could not attend the race, they made possible to still contribute, by offering some very stylish, commemorative tie-dye t-shirts.
We look forward to participating next year and continuing to add our voice to noble causes that seek to uplift the great people of this nation. For more information on the Scotiabank Foundation and their initiatives, visit them online here www.facebook.com/ScotiabankTTFoundation
